Bdsmlr is tumblr-like and upgrading daily to try to meet demand of incoming #tumblrrefugee s. There is no iOS app, and may never be. Right now a laptop browser is the optimal way to use it. Still - it has very basic tumblr type blogging, archives, tagging etc. With some dev work it can evolve. Remember, this tumblr platform we’ve been using has been evolving -with the help of major financial resources-since 2007.
MeWe isn’t tumblr-like but may be viable, perhaps. They have an app..but it’s a different experience from tumblr.
I’ve registered at Reddit but haven’t had time to dig in. My very quick take is that it’s a different/non-’blog’ experience.
I’ve also registered on Sharesome, Swarmlr and a Mastadon server-but haven’t had time to dig in. Followers have passed along mixed reviews about Sharesome.

New (TBA) platforms:
There are two or three (or more) possibly tumblr-like platforms rushing to become functional:
Pillowfort is active in locked beta mode. You can pay for early access. I haven’t gotten reviews from anyone whose been inside.
Cumsblr hasn’t revealed itself yet, but you can sign up for a notification when it opens.
There are a couple other TBA platforms that are saying they’ll announce soon/any time
Some of these platforms are tentatively promising importation of our tumblr blogs- which would be HUGE…tho when I questioned an intermediary about importing this blog it seemed like only a small fraction of that would be possible, due to my archive size:(

We are all looking at new platforms coming off (for many) a substantial loss of work/content/relationships here on tumblr- so the stability (technical and otherwise) of next-gen platforms needs to be considered.. as much as is possible as we migrate. Some of this is unknowable now, and a roll of the dice seems inevitable..
Right now- in addition to opening discovery accts on several platforms, and waiting for others to go live- i’m inviting/encouraging friends and followers to join me on Twitter @billyguitar77 ..so we can stay in touch.
While Twitter is not a blogging platform like tumblr, it IS a major social media platform- one that allows posting/tweeting of nsfw porn (at least for now;) if you’re interested. I’m posting/tweeting some nsfw there -Twitter style- as we wait to see What/Where is next.
While I don’t believe Twitter is my final destination- it might be for some…tho they could tighten up nsfw rules at some point. In any case Twitter is an ok place to get information about new/next platforms out. So i’m happy to do that and pass along other tumblr PSAs as long as needed.
There are a few Twitter hashtags in use to help you track things; e.g; #tumblrrefugee #tumblralternatives etc. just type tumblr into the search bar and a bunch of related hashtags should appear.
Most indications are that tumblr nsfw blogs will be ‘made private’/disappeared on Dec 12/17. Only the blog owner will be able to view it- and you won’t be able to post /reblog anything…even to a blog that only you can see.
Someone suggested that tumblr messaging might still work..but i’m not assuming anything will be working.

Tumblr has updated their terms of service and will be banning all adult blogs starting December 17. That means this blog and all associated blogs will be disabled and removed from public access soon.

Obviously, I’m quite disappointed by this and the resulting loss of over 6 years of work building and maintaining this blog and its community. I will try to set up a mirror of the Anal Only Lifestyle blog in the coming weeks, but I expect that the porn blogs may be gone for good just due to the costs of hosting large amounts of image/video content.
Fortunately, we’re far more than just these blogs! Our community is centralized at the Anal Only Lifestyle Forum and Discord server. Tumblr lets you back up and download your blog. Go to your Blog Settings page for the blog in question, scroll to the bottom, click the Export button at the bottom, and wait for an email that notifies you it’s ready to be downloaded. If it’s a big blog, it might be a very large file—this blog was 25 GB!

- there are apps for both android and ios (something that most nsfw-only solutions will never get)!!!
- it actually feels quite fast and more polished than all other alternatives i’ve tried so far.
- the interface is a little confusing at first, but is very tidy and flexible.
- in the web version, you can customize columns in your view. each column can be dedicated to certain feed/tag/user(s)!
- the underlying platform is decentralized and open source.

We all have seen the Tumblr communicate about forbidding nsfw blogs or those which have “adult” posts.
They think it won’t cause them any harm, but we are a really big part of the community. Let’s act and tell the staff that tumblr will slowly die after taking this decision. Follow these steps:
If you do this before the 17 of December, we can change this decision. Let’s make the staff hear us. Make tumblr great again, a free place for free minds and free content!!
Personally, I enjoyed every single moment here at tumblr, and I appreciate everyone of my followers and blogs that I follow. If they delete my account… It was a pleasure to know you all. But we can still change this!!!

Well everyone, they say that all good things must end. Yesterday, I received the announcement that starting December 17, Tumblr will no longer allow adult content to be posted and that means that the reason for my starting both my blogs in the first place will come to a crashing halt.
On December 15, I will be shutting down all of my blogs on Tumblr and I am posting this announcement to let those who like and support both of my blogs know this in advance. It’s been a lot of fun and both blogs were really, in my personal opinion, starting to take off and this really does piss me off.
Thanks to everyone for following and supporting the blogs. Maybe Erotic Femme will return in another venue somewhere down the road.
